The new model has the power of the new M4 Max and M3 Ultra along with the capabilities of heavy duties including 3D rendering, video editing, code compiling, and other workflows. The beesline Mac Studio features the M4 Max chip that has 14-16-core CPU, 32-40-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine. It offers 36GB of unified memory as standard that can be expandable up to 128GB with 546GB/s bandwidth. The storage of the device starts at 512GB and it goes up to 8TB.
While the M3 Ultra chip offers 28-32-core CPU, 60-80-core GPU, and 32-core Neural Engine. It starts with 36GB unified memory and you can add up to 16TB SSD storage. It is also said that the latest M3 Ultra Mac Studio is capable to run large language models (LLMs) with over 600 billion parameters.
The new M3 Ultra Mac Studio comes with up to 24 streams of 8K ProRes video playback with H.264, HEVC, and ProRes encode and decode. It can support up to 8 displays.
Both the M4 Max and M3 Ultra Mac Studio models come with 4x Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) ports on the back, and the latter also has two more of the same ports on the front side. The back side also includes 2x USB-A ports, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x 10GB/s Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The company also brings a UHS-II SDXC card reader on the front. The device supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the latest Mac Studio with M4 Max starts from $1,999, while the M3 Ultra has a starting price of $3,999. You can purchase the device from March 12.
