After the Goods and Services Tax (GST) came into practice, Apple has reduced the price for its Products in India. The products include iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple watches with a price cut up to 7%.
Starting with the iPhone series:
- The Apple iPhone 6s (32GB) is now available at Rs 46,900, as it is previously sold at Rs 50,000.
- The Apple iPhone 7 (32GB variant) is now available at Rs 56,200, which was Rs60,000.
- The iPhone 7 (128GB) is now available for Rs 65,200 instead of Rs 70,000.
- The iphone 7 (256GB) variant at Rs 74,400 instead of RS 80,000.
- The Apple iPhone 7 Plus(32GB) is now available at Rs 67,300, previously at Rs 72,000
- The iPhone 7 Plus (256GB) will be available at Rs. 85,400.
- The Apple iPhone SE (32GB) is now available at Rs 26,000 instead of being sold at Rs 27,200.
- The Apple iPhone SE(128GB) is priced at Rs 35,000.The iPhone SE model is produced in Bengaluru started in may with App Accelerator to provide support for developers.
- The Apple iPad Pro 12.9 inch (512GB) will be available at Rs 97,000.
The government has introduced a 10 per cent basic Customs duty on mobile phones and certain parts, to promote domestic manufacturing.Apple has 3 % market share by volume and 11% market share by value in the country. According to premium market segment, Apple has a 44 % share, Samsung had 41 per cent share in the January-March 2017 quarter.Apple’s revenue increased more than 20 % in India in the March 2017. India is an important market for Apple, it has been trying hard to settle in the market along with customers satisfaction.
