Along with the iOS 13, Apple has unveiled its updated watchOS i.e. watchOS 6 at the WWDC Developer Conference event in California. The latest version of the operating system of its wearable is not coming with huge changes, but the company has implemented some improvements as well as made an attempt to make the Apple watch more of a stand-alone device.
All new features of watchOS 6
The latest version brings Watch Faces to the Apple Watch, and that will allow users to set Gradient, Digital, California Dial, and Solar. The new version of the operating system also brings new applications to the Apple Watch such as Voicemail, Calculator, and Audiobooks. The company said that the applications will run independently, and this opens the door for the App Store on the Apple Watch, this will also encouraging developers to create applications for the Apple wearable.
Furthermore, the tech giant Apple also announced a new streaming audio API, and this will allow developers to include streaming audio in their apps, which will be handy for podcasts or live sports commentaries.
The latest watchOS 6 also emphasize on health and fitness features, users will get the activity information with Activity Trends, and that will use the information Apple Watch collects and put it in perspective. The tech giant is also bringing a new Noise app in the latest version of the watchOS, and that’s to help the Apple Watch users keep their hearing health good. The application will measure the decibel level of environmental noise, and alert the users that things are becoming too loud and may affect your hearing.
That’s not all, it also sports the Cycle Tracking and the company also said that it will bring watch bands in summer colours and special Pride edition watch bands for Apple Watch.
Compatibility and availability
The latest version will support Apple Watch Series 1, iPhone 6s or later running iOS 13 or later. It will be available to developers today and the version will available to the public this Fall.
