The new smartwatch starts at $399 and the device is available for pre-order today. It will be available from September 18th. In India, the Apple Watch Series 12 comes with a starting price of Rs. 56,900.
Coming to the specifications, the latest Apple Watch Series 12 supports the Health Sensing System, which includes redesigned optical and electrical sensors with larger green LEDs. The device has been introduced with the upgraded sensors that will be recording your heart rate every five seconds in the background and that can measure Heart Rate Variability (HRV) up to 24 times more frequently compared to the previous generation.
This will be feeding into a new Readiness metric and the device can now offer a daily score from 0 to 10 based on recent activity, sleep, and daytime vitals. It also features passive notifications for potential hypertension and sleep apnea. Apple has also introduced a redesigned Health app that introduces a Health Age metric to compare user data against age-based averages.
Apple has introduced the device with the new S11 chipset that also brings a suite of microphone-dependent features as Audio Intelligence. It brings Live Rewind, which transcribes the last 15 seconds of audio when the user double-clicks on the Digital Crown. It is also capable for the features including Siri Recap that can generate text summaries of recent chats.
The company says that all audio processing directly on the watch using the S11 chip’s Secure Exclave. So the privacy is taken care of seriously by Apple. The latest Apple Watch Series 12 comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes. Apple is offering aluminum and titanium cases, alongside the return of a ceramic option as well and the same is in white and blue colours. The device can offer up to 24 hours of standard usage along with fast charging as well. The device runs on watchOS 27, which includes a new Siri AI integration for more conversational queries.
