Finally, Chrome apps are coming to an end. Google announced and posted a timeline on Wednesday declaring that it is going to phase out Chrome app backing from all operating systems.
This move has been started back in 2016 and made significant steps forward on the successive years. The category was disappeared from the web store 8n 2017. These packaged apps built on CSS, HTML, and JS (JavaScript)once delivered a native app experience to the users.
However, from March 2020 Chrome web store is decided to stop accepting new chrome apps and curb further support. Initially, it will be implementing demarcation in the operating systems such as Windows, Mac, and Linux and by June 2022 Chrome Apps will be a memory for all operating systems which includes Chrome OS.
But, the other services which are provided by Android apps and Chrome extension will continue to serve on all platforms.
Anyhow, this move seems to impact much less to the user population. The adoption rate of chrome apps was considerably low and it appears to be less uninteresting to the majority of users. But, those who are using chrome book and chrome OS has to move to better alternatives to keep your works seamlessly.
