OnePlus 9 series is the latest and greatest offering of the Chinese brand and the same includes three devices which are the OnePlus 9, 9 Pro, 9R. The company has launched the new smartphones with the flagship processor, the first two devices are powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile processor while the last device is powered by the Snapdragon 870 mobile processor. The smartphone brand has launched new devices with an amazing camera setup as well.

Well, if you are the user of the latest OnePlus 9 series in India then you have a piece of bad news. The company has officially confirmed that the smartphones will not get additional 5G bands via software updates.

Now you may think that the devices are coming with the 5G capability then what is the use of additional bands, right? The thing is the company needs to provide additional bands if the same requires in the country otherwise the users of the smartphones will be dump.

Actually, the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro coming with two 5G bands in India, and they are n41 and n78 respectively. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9R is coming with only a single 5G band and that is n78.

Now the problem is coming, as the company has confirmed that the carriers in India are prioritizing n78 and if it has decided to have this band in its new devices alongside the n41. And if the Telecom operators of the country don’t adopt either of these bands, then OnePlus 9 series users will not able to use 5G in the country because the company has confirmed that it will not provide additional 5G bands via future updates. Well, that means if the situation comes then users will have to use the 5G smartphone like a non 5G Smartphone and that is really a bad situation.

Let’s hope that such kind of situation will not happen and we would like to know your thoughts about the decision of the brand in the comments section below.
