Welcome everyone to our last Best of 2022 article. As always, the most awaited article of this series is here i.e. Best Flagship Smartphones launched this year. This list means The Best 5 Smartphones that are launched in 2022. Here we don’t look at the price or value for money aspect, just the smartphones.
This year we have seen more refinement in flagship smartphones rather than innovations. That’s maybe because people also don’t want to spend a hefty amount on experiments in the time of recession. That’s quite fair but still there are few brands who just revamped their last year flagships with few tweaks, no sign of something new or even a good upgrade. Now without any further ado, let’s have a look at Best Flagship Smartphones of 2022.
-
Google Pixel 7 Pro:
Starting with the most surprising flagship smartphone launched this year, the Pixel 7 Pro. If you know about smartphones from quite some time, you know that Pixels are not a perfect candidate to sit on the first spot. They have mastered the camera algorithm a while ago, but always lacked in providing overall premium experience. But this year they nailed it in almost every department. Pixel 7 Pro has amazing display, great battery life, proper 3 camera setup, a very premium & solid design, and more. The software experience is also one of the best, and without any big bug. The only downside is relatively slower charging speed than other Android flagships (still better than iPhone though). Still, if you ask for the best android smartphone without considering any price, I will recommend the Pixel 7 Pro, or even the Pixel 7 if the price comes into consideration.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra:
Now comes the most underrated flagship smartphone launched this year, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. As you all know that Samsung has officially stopped making the cult Note Series, so they have immerged the S-Pen functionality in their S Ultra smartphones. This year the Galaxy S22 Ultra didn’t offered many new things, but it got some necessary refinement which makes it the most balanced android flagship to buy. It has Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, one of the best smartphone display, more refined S-Pen stylus, and 4 camera setup including a regular, a wide angle, a telephoto, & a periscope camera sensors. It has a very premium build with probably the best camera lens size for me, unlike others who are shaping it bigger and bigger. Software experience is also very good and enjoyable. Overall, a safe buy and very underrated smartphone.
-
Apple iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max:
Surprisingly the pioneer company which introduced the first smartphone couldn’t top this list. The Apple iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max are very great smartphones, no doubt. But they are literally a tweaked version of iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max. Apart from new processor (that’s also a slight upgrade from previous one) and Dynamic Island Notch, it’s almost the same as predecessor. This we can still be okay with, but the main problem why Apple went down is because of the software. Well, it sounds very strange but this year isn’t that great for iOS. We have seen a ton of bugs this year in iOS, and many of them are very strange and can affect the user experience. And Apple is always known for giving most stable software experience, but this year things went haywire for them. That’s why, our top contender for every year is on 3rd sport.
-
Xiaomi 12S Ultra:
Can’t believe but Xiaomi literally made it to the Flagship Smartphone category. They are improving in this segment every year and finally Xiaomi 12S Ultra is their perfect flagship product. It is literally a beast flagship on paper, and for the change the experience is also mostly the same. It has powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset, 50+48+48 Megapixel camera setup, Dolby Vision HDR video recording, beautiful 10-Bit 2K Display, and a big battery with 67W fast charging. It has a very premium built with eco-friendly leather back and aluminum frame. Also, it has the largest 1-Inch camera lens, which is the main 50MP sensor. The only thing lacking in this smartphone is software. First, they could have optimized this incredible camera hardware with post processing. Second, the MIUI does not look that much mature on a flagship smartphone like this. If Xiaomi could design a different MIUI for flagship, that would attract more consumers.
-
OnePlus 10 Pro:
The coolest Android brand does not look that much cool this year, as the OnePlus 10 Pro just made into this list somehow. The increasing price with every flagship just makes it too overpriced. Either you should take a big jump like Xiaomi 12S Ultra, or stay balanced with price. Also how their USP, the Oxygen OS is slowly turning into Color OS is a big reason why this brand is losing from its core. Though it still packs some decent specs like Snapdragon 8 Gen1, 48+8+50 Megapixel camera setup, premium build, brilliant display, big battery with 80W fast charging (fastest in this list). But the core users of OnePlus are clearly not interested in this particular brand anymore. Hope they do something good with OnePlus 11 series next year.
And these are our picks for Best Flagship Smartphones launched in 2022. We literally hope some brand do more stabilizing with their great package next year, some focus on giving actually something new and big upgrade, and some to look forward into pricing and good user experience.
