Generally we watch TV shows on the television, or alternatively on websites and apps like Netflix, Hotstar, etc. But usually these services are not live. There are some live TV channels like Sling TV but they are paid. Now BitTorrent launched it’s live TV streaming service that will stream some TV channels live.
BitTorrent is using there P2P (Peer to Peer) technology that makes live streaming latency very easy and convenient via HTTP. By P2P technology, BitTorrent’s live stream latency time is just 10 seconds unlike Sling TV whose latency is around a minute. As BitTorrent posted on there website, this service is multi-channel service. That means you can stream different kinds of live channels like sports, tech, news, music, etc. Channels which are currently available on the BitTorrent live stream app are NASA, Heroes TV, Clubbing TV, Nusic TV, etc. BitTorrent will add more channels in future and may make all the channels paid, but as of now all channels are free.
This service is currently unavailable in India. Only in some countries like USA it’s available. This app is available for Android and iOS.
