Carl Pei the owner of NOTHING Technologies which is based in London has confirmed the acquisition and says that the deal is all about for the patents which Essential has filed. Apart from this, he is not ready to reveal any other information.
Yes, the rumors are true, we’ve acquired Essential’s trademarks. Today, we are all in on Nothing, and don’t have anything to share at the moment regarding our plans with Essential.
But it is clear that the company will step into the smartphone business very soon and it would be interesting to know the features and the software of the smartphones.
We know that the custom skin called OxygenOS made the OnePlus smartphones very popular and Carl Pei has a major role in that. So we can expect something similar set up in the upcoming NOTHING smartphones as well.
