Google has announced that it will push software updates to the Chromebooks for the next 8 years and for the devices which will launch in 2020 and that means the Chromebook users will get updates till 2028. However, not all the Chromebooks will receive the regular update for the next 8 years, as it will depend on the hardware of the new Chromebooks. If the brand’s launch Chromebooks with an older hardware platform then it will not receive the new updates.
Currently, there are two devices that support the aspect of Google’s principle and the devices are the new Lenovo 10e Chromebook tablet and Acer Chromebook 712, which means both the devices will receive automatic updates until June 2028.
Furthermore, the tech giant has also said that now the Chromebooks will offer an improved Admin Console with faster load times and the devices will also get the ability to search and filter. It will also allow you to see the Automatic Update Expiration dates as well. Moreover, it will also bring a new update arriving to Chromebooks for Education
