The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder, Carl Pei has announced that CMF will no longer be a subsidiary of the smartphone brand. It is said that the company will be constituted as a “standalone” Indian firm.
Moreover, the top most executive has emphasised that building an end-to-end research and development ecosystem within India should be the next step to build an Indian global consumer electronics brand.
This particular announcement has been made after Nothing registered CMF as an Indian entity, and the headquarters are also being moved to the country. It is also said that 99 percentage of smartphones of the brand sold in India and manufactured domestically.
Apart from that, Nothing also said that the company is expanding its strategic manufacturing joint venture with the Optiemus Group that will be bringing manufacturing, ownership, and research and development of Nothing and CMF smartphones under one India-based entity, CMF.
The company has also said that the Optiemus Group will be joining Nothing’s next Series A funding round, increasing its stake in Nothing.
