Few months back Apple announced their WWDC event 2019 schedule, and now we are less than a week ahead. At this event everyone’s eye will be on iOS 13. And the most anticipated feature this new iOS will bring is Dark Mode. Today some screenshots of on iOS 13 is leaked showing this new feature. So let’s have a look.
As the name suggests, this Dark Mode is same as what almost all non-stock Android UI has. The UI theme is set to black so that users can easily use the phone in night time as well. As you can see from the screenshots below, Apple has gone for complete or actual black with their Dark Mode. It means the display won’t generate black pixels, thus resulting in deep black experience. This will also save some battery on AMOLED displays as less number of pixels will be generated. iPhone X, XS, and XS Max have AMOLED display.
The screenshot reveals some other changes also, like new screenshot UI. With iOS 13 after taking the screenshot, the background turns into the blurred wallpaper of the device instead of grey background. The Reminder app will also get a new layout with iOS 13, as you can see from the screenshot of an iPad below. We will get to know more about these features on next Monday, at the WWDC event.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Google is also planning to bring Dark Mode with Android Q this year, so both big players will have this feature in 2019. It will be interesting to see which one will implement this feature better on their OS, Google on Android or Apple on iOS. What are your thoughts on the Dark Mode on iOS 13?
