Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is helping millions of users to move across the city on a daily basis and now they have implemented a new setup that will help commuters to purchase tickets using WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this facility is not available in all lines as it is available only in airport line.
The new implementation will make things easier to commuters as they are not required to wait in queues. Delhi Metro is 6th Metro service to offer this facility after Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Mumbai Metro, Pune Metro, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad, and Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
Further enhancing travel experience for its commuters in an easy to navigate digital mode, Delhi Metro today introduced ‘WhatsApp based Ticketing Service’ for travel on Airport Express Line. This was launched by Dr. Vikas Kumar, MD/DMRC in presence of other senior officials. pic.twitter.com/MjJcHU3moS

So let’s check out the steps to buy tickets using WhatsApp to travel on the Delhi Metro Airport line and the same is also dubbed as the Delhi Metro Orange line as well.
Steps to book tickets via WhatsApp on Delhi Metro
You need to add the DMRC official WhatsApp number 9650855800 to your contacts, before you starting the procedure. Then start a chat with the above mentioned contact by sending Hi and you need to select your preferred language from the options provided.
Then you need to select the Buy Ticket option from the list and select your source and destination metro station. Then you need to enter the number of tickets and confirm the details before making the payment using the integrated UPI service through a credit card, debit card, or UPI. This will offer a QR-based ticket in the same chat and the same needs to be presented to the designated scanner at the AFC gates.
It is worth mentioning that the tickets which are generated on WhatsApp are valid till the end of the business day. Once you entered the metro station, then you need to exit within 65 minutes from the destination station.
