With anniversary update Microsoft rolled out Dark theme option. Which enables darker window of settings and also some other applications of the Windows universal platform applications. But it doesn’t change colour of the file explorer and desktop applications. But after reading this article you will be able to enable darker theme everywhere on the Windows 10. Read on.

First of all, enable the darker mode. To enable it, head to Settings > Personalization > Colours now scroll down and find the option Dark under ‘Choose your app mode’.
Now we will show you how to enable darker mode on file explorer and desktop applications. To enable, follow these steps:
- Head to Control Panel.
- Now click on Appearance and Personalization.
- Hit ‘Change the theme’.
- Now scroll down and find ‘High Contrast Themes’ and choose your desired one.
Follow the steps to enable darker mode in Microsoft Office applications:
Before we move on, make sure you have installed Office 2016 in your PC. Okay, let’s go.
- Open Office application, to say Word.
- Head to File and click Options.
- On the General tab, click Office Theme under Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office.
- Now select Black Theme.
Note: This colour change will affect all the Office applications.
Follow the steps to enable darker mode in all browsers:
- Microsoft Edge
- Open the Edge browser.
- Click on the Menu.
- Select Settings and find Choose a theme.
- Select Black Theme from the drop down.
- Google Chrome
- Open Chrome browser.
- Head to Chrome themes site.
- Now install the dark theme.
- Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox browser.
- Head to Firefox themes site.
- Now install the dark theme.
