Meta has officially introduced the new Facebook Verified in selected markets and it is available for free. The company will be offering a badge that will enable others to know that the account is real.
The social media platform will ask you to go through a selfie-based verification process and you just need to record a selfie video to complete the procedure. After that, the company will check against your existing profile pictures to confirm a match and the procedure will be completed in a few minutes.
Facebook will be offering the badge in Facebook Marketplace, Dating, Groups, and on your profile in the initial stage. Then the company will be offering it in Feed posts in the near future.
The newly introduced Facebook Verified is available to eligible users above 18, who are in good standing with the platform’s Community Standards.
