Google rolled out the Android developer preview of Oreo 8.1, and the latest version of OS is running on first-generation Pixel devices. And with the latest OS, users of the previous version of Pixels get the features of second-generation Pixels such as At a Glance widget, transparent app drawer, and search bar placed between the icons in the dock and the navigation buttons all made an appearance.
However, there is still a difference between both generation Pixel devices and now the search engine giant Google is working on that to fix it. The difference can be spotted in the search of app drawer, as the first generation Pixels just searches app which matches with the words you typed-in. On the other hand, the second generation Pixels give you a suggestion of your old searches and it also gives web results and apps. Moreover, it is more unified search experience and now Google is working to bring this to the first generation as well.
Apart from this, after the update you will also notice some changes on the logo of ‘G’ at its left side. The update will start to roll out from today itself, and it will be server-side update. So, it will take time to hit on your device.
