During the recently concluded Google I/O 2021 event, the Mountain View company Google announced that it will join its hand with the South Korean giant Samsung to develop the next generation operating system for the wearable and it is coming with the many new features and the customization features. Fossil which is a very popular brand in fashion as well as wearable industry has confirmed a vital piece of Information and the same will hurt many users across the globe. The company has confirmed that it will not roll out the upcoming version of the wearable operating system for its current smartwatches which means the owners of the smartwatches of Fossil which are available in the market at this moment will not get the upcoming features and other advanced implementations.
However, the company has confirmed that the next generation device which will be dubbed as a Fossil Gen 6 with the new version of the Wear OS. Greg McKelvey and Steve Prokup, Fossil’s chief commercial officer and vice president of connected devices respectively, also confirmed that the upcoming version of the device will feature better display as well as battery life and the advanced health related features.
It is also confirmed that the next generation Fossil Smartwatch will continue to feature physical buttons and crown to navigate the user interface. Unfortunately, there is no information about the arrival of the device but we can expect that the same will be announced in the third quarter of this year.
