The launch of this year’s Google Pixel smartphones is near and as of now, we know very much about the devices. We have some pretty clear images of both smartphones as well. Most of the major specs are sort of known to us, like flagship Qualcomm processor, dual camera, etc. But still, there are few gaps that are still unfilled, until today. Because today we got full specs of both Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. So let’s look at them.
Starting off the with a difference, the Pixel 4 will sport 5.7 inch display with Full HD+ resolution whereas 4 XL will have 6.3 inch display with Quad HD+ resolution. Both are OLED displays and has a refresh rate of 90hz and Ambient EQ. Another difference between both is the battery, and that’s where Pixel 4 disappoints the most. It will pack just a 2,800 mAh battery. I mean seriously? 2,800 mAh battery for Full HD+ 90hz panel and Snapdragon 855 processor? Though Pixel 4 XL has 3,700 mAh battery which is comparably better than regular variant but falls behind the 4,000 mAh capacity from competition like Galaxy Note 10 Plus and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Now moving to similar specs, both will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor (not the Plus). Both will have 6GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage, which is still low as compared to the competition. There will be a 12MP main camera with Dual Pixel and a secondary 16MP telephoto camera as well. The Visual Core in Snapdragon 855 chip for image processing is replaced by custom Pixel Core by Google. So it would be interesting to see how much this will improve image processing. There will be other features like Type-C port, Face Unlock, Motion Sense, Titan M Security Module, and of course Android OS with 3 years of software and security updates as well.
Along with specs, this leak brings us the information about what will come inside the Pixel 4 series boxes. Apart from the smartphone, the box will contain an 18W fast charger, Type-C to Type-C cable, Type-C to USB 2.0 connector, SIM ejector tool, and quick start guide. So this year as well we won’t see any wired or wireless earphones within the box. Also, there’s no 3.5mm jack to Type-C connector, which means Google will possibly launch Pixel Buds in the event and sort of force buyer of Pixel 4 to purchase separate earphones or Pixel Buds.
So that’s all the information we have as of now. Personally I don’t have much excitement to know about Pixel 4 because of so many detailed leaks. The only thing to wait for the launch is pricing, and some details like camera sensors and other minor things as well. Well, what are your thoughts on these specs of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL?
