The Garmin Fenix 7 Series and Garmin Epic Smartwatch will be launched in India on Thursday, February 17th. The company has also expanded its outdoor wearable lineup across the country.
The Garmin Fenix 7 series includes Garmin Fenix 7, Fenix 7 Solar, Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar and Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar smartwatches. According to the company, the Garmin Fenix 7X is the industry’s first smartwatch with built-in flashlight. It also claims that its power sapphire solar lens will provide durability, scratch resistance and solar charging for better battery life.
meanwhile, the Garmin Epic comes with an AMOLED display and a multiband GPS. Both smartwatches are aimed at adventure seekers and explorers.
Garmin Fenix 7 Series Specifications
The Garmin Fenix 7 Series supports four levels of brightness and displays an SOS signal when the red strobe light is activated. These smart watches are wear resistant and scratch resistant. It also has an anti-reflective high standard power sapphire as well as a highly permeable patented solar panel.
It has a 1.3-inch display with 260×260 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass DX protection. It is made of wearable stainless steel and comes with silicone bands.
According to Garmin India, the smartwatch has been tested by the US military for heat, shock and water resistance. It has buttons and touchscreen controls. It can measure heart rate and comes with a pulse oxygen sensor to measure how well the wearer’s body is absorbing oxygen.
The Garmin Phoenix 7 Series comes with preloaded activity profiles for biking, hiking, golfing, indoor climbing, rowing, running, skiing, swimming and trail running. The smartwatch can track and control the wearer’s workload and help avoid overwork at the start of a running or biking session.
The company claims that the Smart Watch offers up to 18 days of battery life, up to 57 hours in GPS mode and up to 57 days in battery saver mode.
The Garmin Fenix 7 Solar Smart has all the features and specifications of the Fenix 7. There is also NFC for sleep monitoring, respiration tracking, hydration tracking and contactless payments.Its power glass recharges the battery wherever it is. The company claims that the battery lasts for up to 22 days in smartwatch mode, up to 73 hours in GPS mode and up to 173 days in battery saver mode.
The Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar has the same specifications as Fenix 7 Solar. However, it does come with a power sapphire lens, titanium bezel and fiber-reinforced polymer case. It offers golf course routes and surfing as well as a ‘real-time stamina’ tool to track and track effort during activities.
Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar is a great offer based on the specifications listed above. It has a 1.4-inch display with a resolution of 280×280 pixels and a power sapphire glass.The company claims that this smartwatch will provide up to 37 days of battery life in GPS mode and 128 hours in GPS mode and more than a year in battery saver mode.
The Garmin Phoenix 7 Series and Fenix 7 Solar get 16GB of storage. But the Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar and Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar will get 32GB of storage. All smartwatches are rated 10ATM (100m) for water resistance.
Garmin Epix Specifications
The Garmin Epic Smartwatch is available in Slate Steel and Sapphire Titanium (Black and White) models with stainless steel bezels and carbon-coated titanium bezels like diamond.
Both the models have a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 416×416 pixels.The lens material of the steel model is Corning Gorilla Glass DX and the titanium model is Sapphire Crystal. The steel model comes with 16GB of storage and the Titanium model with 32GB of onboard storage.
The Garmin Epic smartwatches have multiple satellite positioning systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) and a multi-band GNSS for accuracy. They come with over 40 built-in sportswear modes, including trail running, mountain biking, open water swimming, triathlon, rowing, golf, weight training and HIIT. It also supports over 42,000 golf course maps worldwide.
It also has a real-time stamina function, which allows the wearer to understand their current physical strength, maintain stamina and adjust speed and intensity in real time. At high altitudes there is a pulse ox sensor to record the amount of oxygen in the body.
Both models of the Garmin Epic Series are rated 10ATM (100 m) for water resistance. They claim that the battery will offer up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, up to 21 days in battery saver mode and up to 42 hours in GPS mode.
