Google has added new warning system for any apps from developers that haven’t gone through Google’s App verification system. Google has always been a step ahead in security features. Right from Google Gmail to its detailed Google Docs Phishing debacle the company has strict and immediate action towards safety.
Now the company has moved on to apps verification system. Hereafter the user will see a new Unverified App screen when trying to access unverified apps. This will eliminate the “Error” page which is used till now. Alike the Apple’s gatekeeper and Windows 10 Non- Store apps the Google Security warning system provides essential data to customers regarding the unverified or malicious App.
The user will be shown an alert to those apps and they have to enter the word “Continue” to proceed further information. This lessens the chance of being affected by dangered Apps. This Warning contains name and details of the developer and app. The developer can also test their app without waiting for verified status but the user can bypass it.
“We’re committed to fostering a healthy ecosystem for both users and developers, These new notices will inform users automatically if they may be at risk, enabling them to make informed decisions to keep their information safe, and will make it easier to test and develop apps for developers.” Said Google’s Naveen Agarwal and Wesley Chun in a blog post.
