Artificial intelligence is seeing a widespread adaption, and Google has laid the robotic foundation through its dedicated “robotics foundation model.” Google takes on X (formerly Twitter) by announcing three features and improvements with Gemini Robotics On-Device, including:
- Designed for rapid experimentation with dexterous manipulation.
- Adaptable to new tasks through fine-tuning to improve performance.
- Optimized to run locally with low-latency inference.

As per the reports, it’s been said that the mountain-view-based office uses natural language instructions to perform tasks smoothly.
Using the natural language model and adaptation to the robotic model, it’s been said that the new model will be able to adapt to new tasks with just 50-100 demonstrations.
Google has already adapted the Gemini-based robotic process for ALOHA robots, Franka FR3 robots, and Apollo humanoid robots.
For further improvement, the Mountain-view-based tech giant will share “Robotics SDK” with trusted developers, enabling them to perform more tasks. Developers can enroll in a tester program through “Google’s Trusted Test Program.”
