Since the very launch of the Google Pixel 2 and XL 2, both of them have been the hot topic and a subject to criticism. The criticism has been going on with big tech bloggers and YouTubers complaining about odd device noises and different screen defects. To tackle any further defaming complaints, Google’s VP of Product management, Mario Queiroz has posted a statement in the Google Product Forums giving a slight relief to the customers. This means that the warranty in the US has been further extended by one year. Whereas in other areas like the UK, the warranty still remains the same i.e 1 year.
In a comment taken from a recent post, Queiroz wrote:
“We’re very confident that the Pixel 2 delivers an exceptional smartphone experience, to give users peace of mind, every Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will now come with a 2-year warranty worldwide. ”
Also, addressing the burn-in problems of the display, he wrote:
“Our current investigation of burn-in, which started as soon as we received the first user report on October 22, confirms that the differential aging is in line with that of other premium smartphones and should not affect the normal, day-to-day user experience of the Pixel 2 XL.”
He says that they will try to reduce the burn-in problem to some extent with some software updates. However, this may not seem the best solution by the Pixel fans but as of now, they will have to accept the same. What do you guys think about Google’s solution to the problem? Do let us know in the comments section below.
