Google gives a revamp to its user interface ahead of Black Friday

Google gives a quick redesign to its search interface keeping the Amazon Black Friday in mind. For your information, Amazon Black Friday is one of the biggest shopping events of the year and one which saw an estimated $3.34 billion in online sales in 2016.

Among the first of changes, the new “quick view” button is a significant one. The button can be button found in the Google Shopping previews section. This can be tapped to provide a glimpse at the product description, reviews, and related items, and it’s a move that should help provide faster access to the core details that the shoppers want.

Google also has something for the gift buyers. The app will now show information such as price, reviews, and comparisons with similar related items, side by side. In certain cases, Google will also show up when a newer model of a product you’re searching for is available.

Not only text input, Google has also tweaked its personal assistant in favor of the shopping festival. For instance, you can now use words like  “Ok Google, where can I buy…”, or simply “Ok Google, buy…” to simplify how you get your hands on goods. This will be available on smartphones and with the Google Home thanks to the Google Assistant.
