The flyover alerts feature will be available in over 40 cities across India and the feature will be available starting this week. It is also confirmed that the alert feature will work for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers as well.
Moving on, the developers have also implemented a narrow lane ahead feature for car drivers and this particular feature will be useful for drivers who are driving on a path for the first time. The company will be using artificial intelligence to analyze the data from satellite images and the app will create visual as well as sound alerts to let the driver know about the narrow road. With this particular feature, you can slow down and the vehicle to avoid unwanted incidents.
The narrow is available in multiple cities including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Indore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, and Guwahati. We believe that Google will be expanding the list of cities in the coming weeks. It is also confirmed that this particular feature will be available on Android then it will be slowly expanded to the iOS platform.
Apart from that, the Google Maps application will also help you to reach charging stations of electric vehicles as Google has collaborated with popular EV charging companies in India, EletricPe, Ather, Kazam, and Statiq, this particular move will help Google to obtain data on 2W-EV charging stations in the country. You will be able to view over 8,000 charging stations in Google Maps. This particular feature will also provide information about the dedicated charging spots for 4-wheelers.
Google Maps will now enable you to easily book Metro tickets in Kochi and Chennai. This particular capability is powered by ONDC and Namma Yatri. The application will also enable you to make payment for the ticket using digital payment methods like UPI. Google has also made things simple in the Google Maps application to report accidents or any other incidents affecting traffic flow. The application will also enable you to report events including ongoing construction activities, road blockades, or traffic rush and the same can be done with a single tap.
Moreover, the company has also introduced a new feature that will enable contributors to curate and share a list of the top places of a particular city and users can also share detailed itineraries using this feature, this will allow others to easily find the best destinations around the city including ‘Best Cafes’, etc.
