The developers of Google Maps are offering the Immersive View which was originally announced back in May last year and the company is now finally rolling out the feature in 15 cities across the globe on both Android and iOS. The cities include Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo and Venice. This particular feature uses Street View, satellite, and live data to create a real-time aerial view of the very popular and important landmarks and the route complete with weather and traffic animations.
Google Maps also getting multiple improvements in the searching capability to enhance the search results. The company is now offering photo-first search results in Maps with the power of artificial intelligence analysis of query-relevant photos shared by Maps users. Whenever you tap on the result of a photo, you will get more information and directions. The company is also improving Things to Do searches in Google Maps with thematic search results and it will also showcase themes like art, entertainment, etc in search results.
Google is also bringing Lens in the Google Maps, which is a rebranded Search with Live View feature and the same is rolling out to 50 new cities including Austin, Las Vegas, Rome, Sa‌o Paulo, and Taipei, and the feature will be available on Android or iOS. You can able to open the live camera view and then move the camera around to see AR labels on restaurants, ATMs, stations, or landmarks in their immediate surroundings.
Google Maps also improves driving navigation and the same comes with features like Improved Lande Details, High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes, and Speed Limits in certain locations. The application will showcase realistic buildings along the route. These features will be available in the next few months in the US, Canada, France, and Germany.
The company is also enhancing the charging station information in the Google Maps and the same will show whether the charging station is compatible with the EV owned by the user and charging speed information as well. It will also provide information about when the charging station was last used as well.
