You will be getting a new option at the top right corner of Google Messages for a video call and upon tapping on it, you could be able to place a WhatsApp video call.
It is worth mentioning that this particular feature is currently not available for group chats. There is no information about the availability of the feature in the stable version of Google Messages application at the moment of time.
