It is reported that the upcoming Google flagship smartphone series will be supporting an alternative USB DisplayPort mode and the same will enable the phone to be used as a desktop replacement using the USB-C port.
Having said that, the upcoming feature is similar to Samsung’s DeX technology which was introduced in 2017 that will enable desktop mode using a USB-C cable or HDMI adapter.
Based on the previous reports, Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone will be featuring a 6.7 inch Samsung OLED flat display with 2992 X 1344 pixels resolution along with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It is also reported that the company will be offering the device with 1600nits brightness as well as 490PPI.
On the other hand, the Google Pixel 8 smartphone will feature a 6.17 inch FHD+ Samsung & BOE OLED flat display along with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also said to come with 1400nits brightness and 417PPI.
The leak is suggesting that the company is improving the display department. It was recently reported that the Google Pixel 8 smartphone will be coming with a 50MP GN2 main camera on the back panel along with a 12MP IMX386 ultrawide sensor. The device is also reported to feature a 10.8MP 3J1 front facing camera.
While the upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone will feature a triple rear camera setup and that will be in the combination of a 50MP GN2 main camera on the back along with a 64MP IMX787 ultrawide sensor and a 48MP GM5 5x zoom camera. Just like the vanilla variant, the device will also feature a 10.8MP 3J1 front facing camera.
The upcoming devices will be powered by the upcoming Google Tensor G3 mobile processor and the devices will be running on the Android 14 operating system out of the box.
