Along with the Pixel 4 series and Pixelbook Go, Google also launched new Pixel Buds at their Made by Google event. These buds are Google’s official answer to truly wireless earphones. These are supposed to compete head-to-head with Apple’s AirPods. So without wasting any more time, let’s see what features Pixel Buds packs within.
Starting off with the design, this true wireless earphone has a very clean design, similar to any other earbud. The buds are very lightweight, and the design language is also very simple and minimal. There’s nothing fancy here. A small hook is also here, which helps to fit the buds perfectly into different ear sizes. The charging case is in oval shape but looks similar to Apple AirPod’s case. The connectivity range via Bluetooth is very good here, as it can be still connected while being away from the smartphone. These Pixel Buds have adaptive sound feature which changes the volume level based in the environment around.
One mic on each bud is located to give more clear voice while reducing background noise. Furthermore, a voice accelerometer helps to boost user’s voice by sensing the vibration of Jawbones. Older features like always-on Google Assistant, music control, and live translation are also present here. These Pixel buds are water and sweat resistance as well. It’s claimed to give 5 hours of music playback while 24 hours stand-by. Any device with Bluetooth 4.0+ can connect with it. It will have Almost Black, Just White, Oh So Orange, and Quite Mint colour options.
