Let’s start with the pricing and availability, the latest Google Pixel Watch 5 has a starting price of Rs. 42,999 for the 41mm variant and the 45mm model is priced at Rs. 45,999. The 41mm model is available in Polished Silver Aluminium Case with Fog Active Band and Champagne Gold Aluminium Case with Canyon Active Band, while the 45mm variant is offered in Satin Pyrite Aluminium Case with Olive Active Band and Matte Black Aluminium Case with Obsidian Active Band.
The company has also introduced a Stephen Curry Special Edition in the 45mm size, and the device features a sweat-wicking performance loop band. The special edition variant is priced at $579 and it is not available in India.
You can purchase the new Google Pixel Watch 5 regular variant in India from August 20 through official channels and Flipkart in the country.
Coming to the specifications, the Google Pixel Watch 5 comes with a rounded design along with a domed Actua 360 AMOLED LTPO display with up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, 320ppi pixel density, an adaptive refresh rate of up to 60Hz and the device also supports an always-on display. The screen is protected by custom scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass.
The device has the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated processor along with a Cortex-M55 co-processor. The device also comes with 64GB of eMMC of internal storage. The device also comes with deeper Gemini integration and the company says that you can raise your wrist to talk to Gemini, while proactive suggestions will present relevant information from Google’s first-party services such as Gmail and Calendar.
It also supports ECG with AFib detection, high and low heart-rate alerts, resting heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate variability (HRV), breathing rate, skin temperature variation and real-time stress tracking. The device also comes with sleep tracking features, including breathing regularity analysis and a personalised Sleep Score.
Google has also added the new Health Guardian, which provides monthly summaries for blood pressure trends, sleep breathing quality, and insulin resistance trends. It is worth mentioning that these features are targeted towards highlighting longer-term changes.
The company has also added the new Breathing Emergency Detection, and it is said to be the industry-first feature for a smartwatch. This feature is capable of checking severe and persistent drops in oxygen saturation using a combination of PPG, accelerometer and barometer sensors alongside on-device AI.
It also comes with over 50 activities, with real-time audio and visual guidance, weekly cardio goals and a daily readiness score. The device also features an upgraded dual-frequency GPS. The 41mm variant offers up to 30 hours of battery life, while the 45mm model can deliver up to 40 hours on a single charge. The device also features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
