Google has unveiled its second generation of Pixel devices, during the made by Google event. And now the company plans to strengthen its root in India, as the company promises to make the Pixel presence stronger than before in the Indian market.
Well, this decision is not a big surprise because India has become the second largest market for smartphone in the world. And the search engine giant Google wants to capitalize this. As the company know that, if they make their presence across the country will sell-off its devices faster in the market of India.
The VP Google’s Product Management also admit that the first generation didn’t performed well in India, and says that its team has learned quite a bit since then.
“We learnt quite a bit with the first Pixel in India and one of the things we’re doing is increasing our marketing investment, really to explain the product. We’ve expanded the channel and from a go-to-market perspective, we’ll be much more present this year compared to last year.”
Now Google wants to increase its offline presence across the country, as the company says that consumers of India loves to buy premium and high-end smartphones but only after experiencing the device in their hands. However, the company also said that they will not reduce the price tag of the device in Indian market.
