Google is making huge announcements at the Google IO event, and at the same time, the search engine giant has released the latest Android distribution chart. In the last distribution chart, we saw that the latest version of Android which is called Android Oreo strengthened its share in the Android distribution chart. Well, now in this latest update the new operating system of the Android continuously growing its share in the list. So, let’s dive into the article to know more about the latest distribution chart and statics of all the Android versions.
Let’s Start with the latest version of Android i.e. Oreo, in the previous report, the v8.0 of the OS was at the 4.1% share, and the v8.1 was at 0.5% share. But in the latest report, the new Android Oreo 8.0 has 4.9% share and the 8.1 version is installed in 0.8%. Well, the new version of Android has secured 5.7% in the Android. The growth is really great and happy to see, as the company and the manufacturer of smartphone rolling out the latest update in right time and also thanks to many new devices which are coming with the latest Android update.
Moving to the Nougat (which is new and last major update for many devices), is now at top of the table, as (v7.0 decreased by 0.1% and v7.1 increased by 0.4%), and now it has a total share of 31.1%. This is really a good job for the Android version and it is really happy to see that many OEMs pushing the latest update to the devices.
Coming to the older versions, Android Marshmallow continuously going down and, in this month, its dropped by 0.5% and the OS is active on 25.5% of devices. However, it is the second in the Android distribution chart. Speaking about the Lollipop, the numbers continuously going down, both the versions (v5.0 and v5.1) of Lollipop and now it is slipped to the third spot in the chart with 22.4%. In terms of Android KitKat, it also goes down by 0.2% and in this month, it is active in the total number of 10.3%.
Talking about the Jelly Bean, it is also going down and now active in 4.3% devices, Ice Cream Sandwich remains on 0.4% devices and the Gingerbread, is active on 0.3%.
The new numbers are really making happy and as an Android user, it’s an awesome feeling because the new version of Android continuously increasing its share. I hope that in the next month the Android Oreo will hit on more devices and the numbers will arise.
