Google recently made certain changes to the Google Now cards optimising them a bit with a few alterations keeping the core experience same, but it has not been suited well for certain users.
The new design can be seen of the Google Feed panel placed at the left most home screen when using the Pixel launcher. Now, this is semi-transparent which allows you to see the wallpaper in the spaces around the Cards. The Google Now landing page is now divided in three sections – ‘Home’, ‘Upcoming’ and ‘Recent’.
In the home tab, you’ll find the similar card interface, while upcoming can be linked to your email accounts and calendar to bring you personalised information on what’s happening in your schedule. While in ‘Recent’ tab you can search your History.
The major change being that the upcoming events no longer appear above new cards in the Home feed, but now are held exclusively in their own tab. This change may be weird for some at first, but according to us, is more systematic and organised than before.
Another change that is not going well with fans, is that the cards cannot be swiped away. Instead you need to tap the menu having three dots and select “done with this story”. Well, this feature was not at all necessary, in fact the previous swipe to remove feature was more easy and convenient. For all those users, who were used to swiping away, this will take some time to be adapted to.
