Google has introduced four generations of its mobile processor called the Google Tensor and the same were developed in collaboration with Samsung. According to the latest ,information, the next generation Google Tensor G5 mobile processor will be based on TSMC’s advanced 3nm process and the same will provide enhanced efficiency and performance.
The company will also revamp the CPU layout of the upcoming processor and that will feature a primary Cortex-X4 core and the company will introduce a reconfigured mid-cluster. The design will include five Cortex-A725 cores and the company will also move away from the ARM Mali GPU, and the upcoming processor will feature a new GPU from Imagination Technologies (IMG). It will also support ray tracing support—along with GPU virtualization capabilities.
Google will be introducing a new TPU in the upcoming Google Tensor G5 mobile processor and the same will bring a 40% increase in TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second). The TPU of the mobile processor will be supporting on-device training and it will feature embedded RISC-V cores as well.
