Google is in process of developing their own Chipset to power Smartphones or IoT and they have chosen Bengaluru as their Design hub. Hiring few microchip engineers in India, Google to expand its team in manufacturing their own chipsets for their products which lower its overall cost and gives a wide opportunity to Indian engineers in chipset manufacturing in such a mountain view company!
Google’s bengaluru site will be the first hub in creating the microchip with an internal team across the country.”Everyone tries to keep things close to home when starting out, but when you reach a certain level of success you have to expand out,” said Jim McGregor, who follows the semiconductor industry for Tirias Research.
Google has hired at least 16 engineering veterans and four talent recruiters for its “gChips” team from traditional chipmakers such as Intel, Qualcomm Inc, Broadcom Inc, and Nvidia Corp, according to a review of LinkedIn profiles.
Google has already started creating its own chipset for image processing and data centers. But the company wants to try the next level of creating its own chipsets to run devices with customizing components.
