When Netflix opens, we can get a splash page that shows the different profiles available that Android TV (Google TV) users have been wanting for ages. Personalized profiles a.k.a. Google has now revealed that multi-user support will be coming to Google TV from next month.

Last year, Google stated that support for multiple user profiles was one of the best features in its mind, but did not say when this feature would be available. However, in March of this year it was revealed that it was working on a kids profile which was made available to users.

According to The Verge, Google TV, TCL and Sony TVs will be available on Google TV and Sony TVs from next month, a Google spokesperson informed them. Personalize personal profiles, recommendations, watchlists, and Google Assistant help. Google also revealed that downloaded apps and credentials can be used across profiles. No mention of profiles coming on Android TV.

In addition to personalized profiles, Google will also release a special feature called “Glansable Cards”. These are small info cards that are displayed when the TV is idle. In addition to shortcuts to photos and podcasts, users can view personal information such as news, weather, and sports.

The source also mentioned that the new mobile remote app for Google TV, which was announced last month for Android, will soon be added to the Google home app for Android and iOS.
