Google warns App developers whose apps creates security issues

Google has always been aware of security threats caused by Apps and App developers. Now Google has warned App developers not to use its accessibility services as a security issue to the user.

Google strictly says if any app creates a security issue, It will be removed from its Play store. The problem arises when Android offers permissions for Developers to improve Applications.

Google has sent an email to all developers “unless developers can describe how the app properly uses the Accessibility Services to help users who are disabled, it will need to remove all requests for accessibility services or it will be taken off of the Play Store”.

“All violations are tracked. Serious or repeated violations of any nature will result in the termination of your developer account, and investigation and possible termination of related Google accounts”.

“Google is cracking down on Accessibility Services use due to security reasons. While applications like LastPass use the available APIs to identify password fields in other apps, this level of access can be used maliciously,” tech portal Android Police reported on Monday.

Many apps in the Play store uses Accessibility services. Even several launcher and customization apps require tons of permissions to modify smartphone settings and appearance. If app developers going to take advantage of these permission offered by Android, Then they all going to face serious consequences in future.
