We know that Fitbit is now under Google and now the search engine giant is currently making changes in the hardware division of its wearable. The new changes made to high profile departures and the company has also made shuffling in the team. Google has also reduced the number of jobs as well.
It is said that Fitbit co-founders James Park and Eric Friedman have stepped down from the headquarters along with other Fitbit team members. Google is also laying off streamlining its workforce with job cuts across its key units. The source says that in the company clarified to reduce “a few hundred roles” jobs especially from its augmented reality (AR) team.
The decision of job cutting arrives as Google is merging its Pixel, Nest, and Fitbit hardware teams into a single organizational structure which means all the engineers will be working as a group under a single leader.
So let’s wait and see how things will turn around for Google after the new adjustments and changes. By the way, I wish all the success to the top executives of Fitbit.
