Today on Google’s Earnings call, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has addressed some of the Accomplishments with the hectic third Quarter.
Google has recently acquired 2000 HTC engineers along with a non-exclusive license for HTC’s IP. Sundar Pichai also answered about the deal and how Google is seriously committed to Hardware.He has also been very specific about Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 Xl which has big benefits from larger investments in marketing and Availability. Both the Pixel and the Pixe2 faced some issues like Bluetooth connectivity and Display issue. But the company has always put a huge effort to improve its Hardware technology
“We’ve been working with HTC very closely for the Pixel phones, so across the two companies, we saw a win-win construct, by which we could bring the team and the IP and other assets related to the Pixel business in-house. It just made a lot of sense to do it.”
“We’re investing more in marketing. We’re launching in more countries. And we’re offering these devices in more retailers. And we’re already seeing results. Pre-orders of Pixel on day one this year were more than double what they were last year.”
Apart from Hardware, Sundar also commented on Cloud and YouTube businesses. Google has now researched on further machine learning and Artificial intelligence in order to bring best of its class. Google always wanted Youtube to directly compete with Netflix. The company also planned to announce 40 original show in its video subscription service YouTube Red and Netflix has only 30 Original shows.
Sundar Pichai also said about the YouTube TV which is Google’s Tv streaming service, to Google search which makes easy to find what the user wants.
“I think there’s always been this promise on being able to be like Google Search where when you want something, we make it easy for you to find it. [We’re] bringing that same kind of a seamless experience to TV, when you think about something you want to watch.”
Sundar Pichai seems to have a bagful of interesting projects to lead the future. From Artificial Intelligence to Streaming services, Google is trying to make their best of all. The Hype pixel 2 devices crested shows the company’s workmanship and derived technology from past and present. Let’s hope Google to give a plenty of happiness via technology 🙂
