Google’s Upcoming Password Manager to Offer Tighter Security

In the Google I/O 2021 event, Google is taking strides to make passwords strong and unique in Chrome browser and in notebooks that run Chrome OS. In the event, Google spokesperson Jen Fitzpatrick gave details about the four new features that are coming like a Password manager.

One such feature aims to stop users from using the same passwords for all online accounts. Google is also launching a tool that will let you import passwords from other third-party password managers to a Google account. It will offer deeper integration between devices that run Chrome web browser or Chrome OS allowing you to use the same account on both platforms seamlessly.

Google will soon send notifications if it detects any passwords breaches. Lastly, the company is working to provide a fast and easy solution to update passwords of accounts that have been compromised. Google’s Duplex machine learning system along with Google Assistant will show a Change Password” button and navigate you through the process of changing the password of the account at risk.

At present not all sites support this functionality but those with support for  Duplex password creation, the company says more sites will support this feature in the near future. Google says its password manager can suggest new and strong passwords for its users who are looking to create new accounts online.
