Back in last year, we witnessed for many announcements as well as showcases of the prototypes for foldable devices and foldable displays, many popular brands came forward to showcase as well as to announce their foldable product. However, OnePlus did not involve in this segment and today the executive of the company revealed the answer to that.
Thanks to the guys at The Verge for the interview at the sidelines of the CES event straight after the showcasing of OnePlus Concept One phone, the CEO of the company Pete Lau said that he did not find any significant value for the foldable smartphone yet.
He further said that the displays on the foldable devices such as Galaxy Fold has the plastic nature and this will allow the screen to get scratched very easily and it will also lead to many other issues and that’s why OnePlus don’t want to develop a foldable device. The executive of OnePlus also said that the technology must be improved to a level where the display can be folded like a crisp and it doesn’t affect the usability of the device, he also added that the new Moto Razr will also face the same challenges like the Galaxy Fold.
Well, we totally agree with the statement of Lau, as the technology needs to improve and the same is not good for the day to day life. We believe that there will innovation happen to this segment as well. We would like to hear your thoughts about the same in the comments section below and stay tuned with us for the latest updates.
