Honor is expected to bring the latest Honor Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro later this month in China and the smartphone series will also include the 8 Mini and Magic 8 Ultra. Both devices are expected to be announced in the first half of next year and today the primary camera information of the Ultra variant appears online.
It is reported that the upcoming Honor Magic 8 Ultra will be launched with a 50MP OV50R main camera on the back. It is also said that this will be the first phone to feature the camera sensor and the camera sensor is expected to enter the mass production phase in Q1 2026.
The source has also reported that the upcoming 50-megapixel sensor will be coming with a large 1/1.3-inch size with 1.2μm pixel units and 100 percent QPD (Quad Phase Detection).
It supports the latest LOFIC technology, offering a dynamic range of up to 110dB, along with 4K triple-channel HDR and 10/12/14-bit RGB RAW output. It will also come with DAG HDR support and the same features 20 percent lower power consumption.
The device was previously reported to come with an ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto camera with 4.3x to 7x optical zoom.
