The majority of Smartphones are coming with either a lithium-polymer (Li-poly) or Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery and now it seems that we are going to witness for a massive improvement in battery as the popular Chinese brand Honor showcased its first silicon-carbon battery with a higher energy density during the MWC 2023 event.
It is claimed to feature 12.8% higher energy density compared to traditional lithium batteries that use graphite on the anode and the same is also coming with a higher energy density.
It is also said that the traditional batteries lose their charge quickly and the same will be useless once their voltage drops to 3.5 volts. But the newly announced silicon-carbon battery has 240% more capacity left at 3.5 volts.
