Honor today had an event for their flagship devices. First, they launched Honor Tab V7 Pro, and along with it the main event, Honor Magic3 series. This is brands flagship smartphone series consisting of three smartphones, Magic3, Magic3 Pro, and Magic3 Pro+. All these are very premium devices with some differences. So, without further ado, let’s have a look at all of them.
Honor Magic3:
Starting off with the vanilla version, the Honor Magic3 sports 6.76-inch OLED display with Full HD+ (2772 x 1344) resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a 10-bit display supporting 1 billion colors and has HDR10+ support. It comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset based on 5nm process, and has Adreno 660 GPU. It has 8GB RAM with 128/256GB storage options.
The device runs on Android 11 with Magic UI 5 on top. Good to see that at least Huawei’s sub-brand has Android OS, along with Play Services. It has glass front, aluminium frame, and options for glass or vegan leather backs. There’s IP54 certification for dust and water resistance.
Speaking of cameras, Magic3 has 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with f1.9 lens and PDAF. Then there’s 64MP Monochrome sensor with f1.8 lens. And lastly just a 13MP ultrawide sensor with f2.2 lens & 120° FOV. It can record videos up to 4K at 60fps and has gyro EIS for stabilization. On the front also there’s a 13MP shooter with f2.4 lens and 100° FOV.
For video, Honor has partnered with IMAX which helps to record videos in LOG format, which can give more flexibility to edit the videos in more professional way. Also, there will be 8 Color Luts available to use on the videos. If you don’t know, Luts are different then filters which we generally use in smartphones.
This Magic3 packs in a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging. It has in-display fingerprint sensor, Ultra Wide Band (UWB) support, and stereo speakers as well. For connectivity. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and Type-C port. It comes in Black & White color options with glass back, and Blue Hour & Golden Hour color options with Vegan Leather back.
Honor Magic3 Pro:
Now comes the Pro variant, which has most of the specs like display, chipset, battery, etc. Same, just like the regular Magic3. But it has few advancements as well. First in camera, everything is same as vanilla version except the addition of 64MP telephoto sensor with f3.5 lens, PDAF & OIS, 3.5X optical, 10X hybrid, and up to 100X digital zoom. On front this one has 3D ToF sensor for secure face unlock.
There’s no 8+128GB option, but another variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is there. There’s 66W wireless charging support as well, along with reverse wireless charging with unknown Watt. In color options, it lacks the Blue Hour color.
Honor Magic3 Pro+ :
And now the last and most premium device amongst all, the Honor Magic3 Pro+. This one also has most features identical to the Pro version. Unlike the other two, this one has big 64MP ultrawide angle sensor, matching with Monochrome and Telephoto ones. There’s a ToF depth sensor as well. It’s main 50MP sensor gets the OIS as well.
This device’s front & back are protected by 3 times stronger ‘Nano Crystal Shield’. It comes only with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage option. And lastly, this one has Ceramic back only, with Black and White color options.
Pricing & Availability:
- Honor Magic3 starts for €899
- Honor Magic3 Pro starts for €1,099
- Honor Magic3 Pro+ is priced at €1,499
- All phones will launch in China first.
- No information about the availability globally.
And that’s the Honor Magic3 Series. I personally feel that the Magic3 Pro with 256GB version is the best deal amongst all, as it doesn’t compromise on anything major, except 64MP ultrawide sensor. Well, what are your thoughts on Magic3 series? Let us know in the comment section below.
