Huawei’s sub-brand Honor, unveiled it’s flagship smartphone line-up in China today. There are two smartphones named as Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro. And major USP of both smartphones is the support of 5G connectivity. These are the first smartphones from Honor to have next gen connectivity support. But apart from this, rest of the specs are also interesting. So without further delay, let’s get to know about Honor V30 and V30 Pro.
Design & Display:
Both Honor V30 and V30 Pro have typical 2019 design with glass back and gradient pattern. There’s also the Pixel 4 like camera bump housing triple camera setup. At the front we can see dual cameras placed inside capsule shaped punch hole notch. Some people don’t call it a notch, but for me it’s a notch that somehow interrupts the viewing experience. The bezels around are fairly thin. The fingerprint sensor is at the right side.
Going more technical into the display, this Honor V30 duo sports 6.57 inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ (2400×1080) resolution and 401 pixel density (ppi). This panel has 20:9 aspect ratio and has 84.5% screen to body ratio. Sadly there’s no information on which glass protection both devices has, but there’s some kind of protection here.
As with many Honor smartphones, camera hardware is one of the highlighting point. And same is with Honor V30 and V30 Pro as well. At the back there’s triple camera setup on both. The primary one is 40MP sensor with f1.8 aperture on V30, and f1.6 aperture on V30 Pro. PDAF, dual OIS, and laser autofocus. The secondary camera is 8MP Telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom, f2.4 aperture, and OIS. The third sensor on V30 is 8MP wide angle lens with f2.4 aperture and PDAF, whereas the V30 Pro has 12MP wife angle lens with f2.2 aperture and PDAF. It can record videos up to 4k at 30fps. On the front we have two camera with 32MP primary sensor that has f2.0 aperture, and 8MP secondary wide angle lens with f2.2 aperture.
Performance & Other Specs:
Now coming to the internals, this Honor V30 comes with Kirin 990 octa core processor max clocked at 2.86Ghz and is built on 7nm process. The V30 Pro has slightly different Kirin 990 processor based on 7nm+ process. The difference between both is 5G implementation. While the Kirin 990 7nm has separate Balong 5000 modem cor 5G, the Kirin 990 7nm+ has in-built 5G modem. Both has same Mali-G76 MP16 GPU for gaming. There’s 6/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage for Honor V30. In Pro variant there’s only 8GB RAM option, along with 128/256GB storage options.
Both runs on latest Android 10 out of the box with Magic UI 3 on top. There are GPU Turbo and Kirin Gaming+ 2.0 for seamless gaming experience. Both packs in a 4,100mAh battery with 40W Honor SuperCharge. The V30 Pro also has 27W wireless charging support. For connectivity it has 5G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS, and Type-C port.
