- First of all, you need to uninstall WhatsApp from your Android device and then, reinstall the instant messaging application.
- After that, open WhatsApp on your phone or tablet and enter your registered WhatsApp number to sign in, verify your number with the OTP that you received on the number.
- Then you will get a prompt to restore your chat backup from Google Drive, just tap on Restore to initiate the recovery of your WhatsApp chats.
- Once the initialization process is complete, tap on Next to find all your chats. The instant messaging application will continue to download your media files including photos, videos, documents, and more on your Android device in the background.
If this method didn’t work for you then you need to follow the second method to recover your deleted WhatsApp message on your Android device.
From local backup
If you didn’t save your chat history on Google Drive then WhatsApp will automatically bring the same from your local backup file which is actually saved on your device itself. You can recover your deleted WhatsApp message using this method as well and you can follow the steps below.

- You will get a list of backup files, copy the most recent backup file and paste the same in the Databases folder which will be available in the internal storage of your existing or new device.
- Now you need to uninstall WhatsApp and install it again on your Android device then log in using your registered phone number.
