WhatsApp is currently testing a standalone mode for Android tablets and it will enable users to use tablet as the primary device. This particular feature will also enable you to transfer your account to an Android tablet. So let’s check out the steps to transfer your account to an Android tablet in this article.
Steps to transfer your account to an Android tablet
It is very easy as you simply need to hit on the “Transfer your account” option and follow the steps that appear on your display. The instant messaging application WhatsApp will ask for your country code and phone number, then send a 6-digit code to verify your identity. After the successful verification, the Android tablet will become your primary device.
After completing the setup process, the instant messaging application will enable you to restore your chat from Google Drive that will bring your previous conversations on the tablet.
It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp will automatically logged out from your previous primary device after making the tablet as your primary device. You can still use WhatsApp on your phone by linking it on the device and you need to scan the QR code. WhatsApp will also enable you to transfer the account back to the phone at any time.
We don’t have any confirmation about the availability of the new standalone mode on Android tablets but we believe that the developers will release the feature very soon in the stable version.
