The Taiwanese smartphone brand HTC does not have a good time in the smartphone industry and the company also faced a financial crisis and that resulted to stop operations in the Indian market. Well, now it seems that the company is planning a new strategy and want to come back in the Indian market.
According to the source, HTC is in talks with multiple Indian smartphone brands such as Micromax, Lava, and Karbonn to license its brand for the smartphones, tablets, and other accessories for a mobile handset. Furthermore, it is also said that there is a possibility for Micromax and Lava to join their hands with the Taiwanese smartphone brand for its license.
Currently, we don’t have any other information about the deal but speaking about the Indian smartphone market, then it is dominated by the Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, and Samsung in the budget and mid-range category. OnePlus has a marvelous customer base in the Indian market as well in the flagship segment. Speaking about the Micromax, it has just 5% market share and Lava, as well as Karbonn, has marginal market share.
