From past one year we are seeing that many smartphone OEMs are running for 18:9 aspect ratio display on their smartphones, especial on their flagships. From few months, we are also seeing that many OEMs are implementing this new aspect ratio in their mid-range smartphones. Now today we got a new leak which suggests that even HTC is going in that direction.
HTC's got an upcoming 5.5" phone, Breeze (second time as HTC codename), that's mostly notable for pushing full screen, 18:9 aspect ratio down to entry level. Therefore specs are nothing special (Mediatek SoC, 2/16GB, 13/5MP, 2730mAh, etc), and it should be priced to reflect that.

Popular leakster Evan Blass has got a new leak in which he suggests that a new HTC Desire smartphone is on itās way. This time the Desire series will also go into the 18:9 direction. He stated that this desire phone is going to be an entry-level smartphone. It will have a 5.5ā 18:9 display that will be mostly a 720p HD+ display, considering itās a ‘HTC’ entry level phone. The processor used in this phone is also as expected an unknown MediaTek processor. The Rear Camera is a 13MP shooter while the front has a 5 MP shooter. It has 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage. The battery capacity is 2730mAh.
Evan mentioned that this phone has a codename ‘Breeze’. Now, this is the 2nd time HTC is using this codename, last time they used the same for HTC MTeoR which was launched back in 2006. So seems like there might be a connection between this new HTC device and MTeoR. Later on, Evan also mentioned that this phone is named as HTC Desire 12. As he is a reliable leakster, we can consider that HTC might skip Desire 11 smartphone.
So thatās all the information we have as of now. As far as we know the history of HTC, with these specs too HTC will price this phone a lot more than it deserves. So if they continue to keep the pricing of these phones too high, they canāt easily survive in this industry where the competition is getting tougher, day by day. Well, we might get to know everything about this device on MWC 2018, as HTC is too holding an event there. So, what are your thoughts on the same? Do share your thoughts in the comment section below.
