Huawei has developed the operating system by eliminating the Linux kernel and Android Open Source Project (AOSP) codebase entirely. The company has used the independent architecture built. The company says that the latest system architecture is capable to provide a 30% improvement in overall machine performance and a 20% less power consumption.
The core feature of the latest HarmonyOS NEXT is the capability to power various types of devices and it is said that the developers are required to create one version of their application to ensure consistent user experience on different screen sizes within the ecosystem of Huawei. Moreover, the latest HarmonyOS NEXT features a unique “App Continuation” function and this particular feature will enable you to transfer one activity from one device to another. HarmonyOS NEXT allows third-party apps to use the power of the system’s AI for features like real-time text reading, smart form filling, and image/text translation. The virtual assistant of the company Xiaoyi is now smarter and the same gets “Xiaoyi Intelligent Agent,” and the same has the power of the Pangu Big Model 5.0. It does not require a wake word and can be “summoned” by simply dragging and dropping content onto the navigation bar of the system.
The operating system also focuses on security very seriously and the company features Strict app vetting which will not allow codes and applications to be installed on the device that do not match the operating system’s security standards.
It also comes with multi device data encryption along with hardware level encryption. The operating system also comes with the permission control that will reduce unnecessary permissions and this will enhance the privacy. The commercial launch of the operating system is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
