Along with the vanilla variant and Pro variant, the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei has officially introduced the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max in the markets of China and the device comes with a dual-layer OLED, 8000 nits brightness, and satellite connectivity. The latest Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max comes with an all-metal body with Huawei’s second-generation Kunlun glass at the front. The device also features IP69 and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max is the first smartphone in the industry that features a dual-layer OLED screen and it offers a peak brightness of 8000 nits, along with the dual-layer structure that will offer great efficiency and better viewing contrast.

It also comes with a 6.9 inch display along with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 10-bit color gamut, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and 300 Hz touch sampling rate. The device also features a full 3D ToF setup on the front along with a depth-sensing sender, depth-sensing receiver, and a 13MP front camera.
The device has the power of the Kirin 9030 Pro mobile processor along with Huawei’s Ark Graphics Engine. The device also supports 3DGS rendering acceleration and hardware-accelerated ray tracing. The latest Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max also features the highest integration of communications systems in any smartphone. The device also supports Wi-Fi 7 Plus, standard cellular networks, Tiantong satellite communication, and Beidou satellite messaging. It also supports 700MHz emergency communications.
Speaking about the camera department, the Huawei Mate 80 Pro Max also features Huawei’s second-generation Maple Leaf Imaging System. The device also comes with a redesigned primary imaging sensor with 2.45μm equivalent pixels. The device also comes with 300 percent higher dynamic range thanks to a dual-real-time fusion system, and the device is capable of sensing colour. The device features a 50-megapixel primary camera, 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor with a 10-stop variable aperture that can shift between f/1.4 and f/4.0 along with a 40MP RYYB ultrawide camera, a 50MP macro telephoto with 4× optical zoom, and a second 50MP periscope with 6.2× optical zoom and up to 12.4× “optical quality” zoom. The device also supports a 3.3× teleconverter via a new add-on accessory kit.
Huawei has also introduced the Huawei Mate 80 RS Ultimate Design and the same as the same specifications of the Pro Max hardware, along with a more luxurious design, and the device comes with up to 20 GB of RAM on the board.
Regarding the pricing and availability, the smartphone has a starting price of 7,999 yuan while the Mate 80 RS | Ultimate Design has a starting price of 11,999 yuan. Both devices will available in China from November 28.
